She was burned because her mom, Dahlia, refused to tell them who the father was. Because she came into the world without a known father they couldn't accept her. They told Dahlia in order to make it right, she had to "cleanse" her daughter, which ultimately meant burning her.

The townspeople burned her for being a witch. That movie was best watched stoned or drunk in my opinion. LOL! There were lots of parts in that movie that left me confused.
