It has for the longest time been of great debate for the need of war, and the role of peace. I personally believe in war, but only for the fact that we cannot simply ignore the fact that both our peace, and our freedom are in periled. I have read the papers, and heard the news, and listened to the highest politicians argue over the need of war... And yet I don't rightly know which one is right, for both party has it's pro's and con's. If our peace were disturbed by not going to war than wouldn't that be a little contradicting? So how are we to say we should go to war, or keep the peace?
As September eleventh brought our world, and country to a standstill we realized something... We're not as safe as we thought. Hundred's of people were killed, and we just watched in horror as one of the biggest accomplishments of the United States fell to a pile of debris on ground zero. In this condition it was inevitable that we go to war, how else could we gain back our feeling of security, and in turn our peace.
There are times that war is not the best route, those times are the ones were we don't have enough supporting evidence or we don't understand the cause or need of such a fight. I have often heard people question the war we are in now... I don't know how to reply to that, it's often too hard to derive a truth from a lie in our government so I can't debate too much on the topic, but I do know what I see, and what I feel is the right way.
Some positive effects of war can be seen in the Middle East. Women are not hiding behind a burke, only hoping that they not be killed, or discriminated. Is this positive? I say yes. There are many differences. So we can see some of the effects of this war are helping the world slowly by progressing in letting women have the rights they deserve. There are some negative effects of war too, such as the many soldiers lives lost in the battle for the freedom of the Middle East, and also for our freedom to be restored. So can we not say that they are equal, by the effect's can the cause not be honored? I'll let you be the judge.

How would you feel about the war if it was right here? The people of Lebanon thought they had a fairly stable world until missles and bombs recently broke it apart. For anyone to advocate war, I think they have to be willing to go and fight in that war. We really do not have the right to ask other people or other people's children to go fight a war we promote.
I also think that the more of Them we kill, the more of Us that they will want to kill. War seems to perpetuate war. I really think we need to be focusing on what diplomatic solutions we could try.
And, yeah, I was in a war. No one wants to go there.

War is necessary in order to protect freedom. September Eleventh was not one of those times, because it is very difficult for the US to declare war on a terrorist group for the simple fact they have no country in which to attack. They may be based in several countries and we cannot attack them all. If you look into 9/11 we should have attacked the Saudis not the Iraqi's because most of the people involved were Saudis. Our Government has no right to accuse and then attack another country because we think they had something to do with 9/11. The war we are in right now is wrong I am sorry to say we have terrorist right here in are own country so should we declare war on our self, that is how much sense our war in Iraq makes . They were no threat to the US they were a threat to others in the region but so is everyone else so who is next on Bush 's hit list. WW I & WW II were completely justified because one country was trying to dominate all of its neighbors and I guess that is the biggest and best example a justifiable war.

Shut up. Forced democracy is an oxymoron. We have no business telling other sovereign nations what to do. Furthermore, you're little bit about women's rights in the Middle East are totally wrong. Our biggest Muslim ally, Saudi Arabia, has laws that include the following (and our president and his father have a "special relationship" with the Saudi Royal Family)
1. All women must wear the burka in public.
2. All women must be escorted by either their brother, father, uncle, grandfather, or husband while in public, at all times.
3. If a woman is accused of being unfaithful in Saudi Arabia, she is subject to public stoning without a trial.
4. Women are not allowed to drive cars or have jobs.
5. Men are allowed up to four wives.

None of this has changed since 9/11, isn't it a bit hypocritical to go on and on about women's rights in the Middle East when the president you so blindly cherish supports the Saudi Royal Family? Get real.

War, it serves as a good population control, that or we got to start colonizing space. As for women not having to wear Burke's, its not nessicarly a good thing. you are imposing an American ideal on another culture, and that's a bad thing. they are loosing the purity of tradition(don't mistake this position as a lack of belief for women's rights) Tradition is a tool of homosapiens created for survival, we historically did things a certain way for a reason(hence the word traditionally). To toss aside tradition so easily means that the lesson mother nature inflicted upon man to create this tradition has been forgotten or is under appreciated.

I'm pro-war, but I'm against troops. War is necessary, but the people who fight it are destructive morons.

war is never justifiable. it is never right. it's only convenient because people are selfish and crude and uncivil. it's part of the culture of violence, part of man. embrace it if you'd like but don't every say it is ever right.
