to upset me,not because she's another girl but because she is such a sweet friend and I want to keep it that way. And I never expected this at all from her,,so how should I handle this?

I think handle it the same way you would a guy. But I understand why you're shocked. It came out of no where.
Be straight forward, and tell her you're not gay.ok.

Sometimes it may be best just to confront her and gently explain it to her how you feel. If she doesn't get the hint, maybe, it's best to not have her as a close friend...
