You need two programs (maybe three). The two I recommend are SpyBot Search & Destroy and AdAware.
The can both be found on this page http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_...
Download, install and update both programs.
Restart your computer and tap the F8 key on your keyboard as the computer begins to start - this will give you the option of starting in Safe Mode - see more about running a computer in Safe Mode here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to...
Run full system scans with both programs, they should be able to find the problems and remove them.
Restart the computer in "normal mode" and see what happens.
The third program which I find helpful is HiJackThis (for advanced user, the is a powerful tool!) and Windows Defender - which can be found here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_...
. I have used all of these programs on many computers. I have had a 100% success rate on removing spyware/adware and viruses.
I have also found that using MSCONFIG can be very helpful in removing spyware and adware - see more about MSCONFIG here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to...
Here is a full article on how to remove spyware - check it out - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_remove_spyware.html
Good Luck!
Oh, and also, I would download Mozilla Firefox - (web browser), it's much more secure than Internet Explorer and it has a built in pop-up blocker (Google Toolbar) - you can find it here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_browsers.html

First, if you don't have it already, go download AVG Anti-virus, it's free forever.
http://free.grisoft.com/
Second, if you're using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you really should check out Mozilla Firefox (also free).
Firefox is an open-source browser that is way better at keeping pop-ups, and un-wanted programs off of your computer than Internet Explorer is.
http://www.getfirefox.com/
Once you do that, you'll want to Google for an anti-spyware program (I don't know of any that are free). I recommend Spyware Doctor, it's free to scan the system, but you have to pay $30/year to remove stuff.

well porn popups are a problem that can be solved. now as for the question as to how they got there...ask your significant other and you will find that answer....you have to visit them to get their popups. they are from the cookies on you computer.
go to internet options in control panel. select the general tab and click on delete temporary files and offline content. it will take a few seconds to complete so be patient. another way to accomplish this is to click on start; all programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup. you will have to check all the boxes listed in the dialog box that comes up before clickin ok to delete.
now if you want to stop the bastard from veiwing porn all together, you can open internet options from the control panel and enable content advisor unter the content tab and then set the level of content to coincide with NO PORNOGRAPHY OR IMAGES. amke sure you set a password for content and if he tries to go on those sites he will com ask you for a password, then you got him!!!! happy hunting
(running a spyware and popup blocker would help too)

hi, i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. which is most powerful in popup blocking.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:
