I'm an event planner so u can say u've got professional help here. It all depends on what you like to have and what your budget is of course. You may go all out and have huge bash in a hotel or go as simple as having some friends over your house. What ever you do just make sure you have fun and not go over your budget.
some recommendations on what to do:
*Big Bash- with cotillion (18 roses, 18 wishes, 18 etc. cotillion de honor is a formal dance number by 18 pairs - this is was such a hit 15 years ago but now the trend is different)
*Rent a room in hotel, have your bestest friends join you for a pajama party 5-8 people would be ok but of course make sure u keep the noise down during the wee hours of the morning.
*Rent a small bar for the night and have a blast! you dance, drink and be merry!
*Go for a road trip with a few friends...
*Have a beach party
*Have a children's party complete with clowns, magicians, balloons, cake ice cream, cotton candy, bouncy castle... everything you wanted to have when you were a kid for your birthday but never had... everything is kiddie party except your guest...
