The tactical officers had nukes and authority to use the Nukes. So, if we would have done what the military hawks wanted us to do, we would have been in a nuclear war. Kennedy was aware that diplomacy was the only way out of that challenge.

So, If Bush would have been President back in 1963, the United States would be hit by several small nuclear weapons, and that would have produced an exchange of Continental weapons with Russia. Many of us would not be here today.

Too scary! I think he would crap his pants and be pretty useless. Sadly, his cabinet isn't much better.

Sorry, just to aweful to imagine. We probably wouldn't be here today.
