Nowadays you can obtain a post-secondary degree from either university or college. I am not talking about a college diploma vs. a university degree. I'm talking about either institutions providing a DEGREE of some sort (e.g. Bachelor of Arts). But some people are convinced that there is a difference on how the degrees reflect your capabilities/skills based on which institution you get it from. Do you think this is actually true? If so, what is the major or minor differences?

There are absolutely differences overall, but individuals can be exceptions. If a college or university is harder to get into in the first place, and does a better job of teaching you, the average person graduating will be far superior to those at lesser places. That is a comparison of averages, though, and every school has its best and its worst students. The star student at Podunk State might be better than the worst student at M.I.T., but when that person applies for a job, all anyone sees on the resume is that (s)he graduated from Podunk State. (S)he then has to prove that (s)he is not the average Podunk State graduate by showing what else (s)he has done.
