does anyone else find this ALARMING or at least annoying? hey idiots who are reading this who are white but try to act black it's not "hey whud up" its hey WHATS UP.Speciallaly the little white girls talking stupid "Whad up homie" Wake up..It's what's up man!!!when I was in school in the 1980's if I would have used that lingo to talk to another white person I would have gotten beat to unrecognition...WHITE PEOPLE...STOP TRYING TO ACT BLACK...you sound like modern urban Liberal IDIOT'S...I am not writing this to sound racist...although most of you liberals will find it that. Being from Northern Wis...I dont think that white 15 y/o girls ordering fast food should say YO...thats a black thing not a white thing.Act your race.If my 8 Y/o son ever starts talking like that I might turn his jaw around WTF does YO mean. Whud ther's an a in there dummy iner city Ebonics have no place in the north wood's.We actually work for a living here. I would rather my son not know the idiot gang talk

I understand where your comming from. I lived in Milwaukee till I was 11 and knew real black people, what the ghetto really is. So when I came up to Appleton a near decade ago I was baffled with all the wiggers. There is no ghetto here. I don't find what your saying to be racist. The first thing I thought when I moved up here was "Where are all the black people?". I guess the use of "ghetto" words are just whats popular. I find myself saying "for real a lot." I know plenty of people that talk all crazy. "I'm fin to smoke a blunt". They know they are white, and that's just the way they talk. Of course, they have the balls to call anyone that's ignorant the "N" word.

Languages always fluctuate... evolve. People who lived in the U.S. during the Civil War would hardly recognize our (poor, by comparison) grammar. I wouldn't swet it so much, were I you. There are larger issues, more worthy of contention.

Our Founding Fathers (in the U.S.) were very liberal. They wouldn't draw any distinction between, "Hey, whud up!" and "Hey, what's up?" -- They'd think both sound equally ignorant and ridiculous.

Shakespeare would have rebuked either, as well. His grasp of the English language is generally recognized as perfect. "Conversation should be pleasant without scurrility, witty without affectation, free without indecency, learned without conceitedness, novel without falsehood. " -- I suspect you have matched none of his criteria for conversation.

Your use of grammar is very poor. Were I inclined, I could deduce that you are unlearned, ignorant, of low class, even dumb. (As, judged by your writing, it would be reasonable to conclude that you are incapable of speech.) But, I know better. Just as I know a fifteen year old girl who greets me with "whud up" isn't stupid, either. (Through out the entire piece, but, for example; "I dont think that white 15 y/o girls ordering fast food should say YO...thats a black thing not a white thing.Act your race.If my 8 Y/o son ever starts talking like that I might turn his jaw around WTF does YO mean. ") The punctuation is entirely improper. "WTF" is improper "Y/o" is improper. But you've conveyed your purpose, and I've understood it. Just as I can follow ebonics... or any other continually evolving form of English.

I've wasted a good deal of time reading & responding to your post. My true hope is that you are able to move beyond your anger & fear. Leaving you as I began, there are larger issues, more worthy of contention. -- Don't waste so much of your energy on slang.

I agree with you completely and I will take it a step further. ANYONE who is or tries to imitate a gangbanger or inner city ghetto is nothing but trash in my book. This is not something to emulate or wish for in your life. Every person should strive to pull themselves out of this type of lifestyle and become productive within society. Ebonics is nothing more than the dumbing down of the English language and should never be allowed in any context.
