China was the world's leading importer in iron ore till 2005, now they are the leading exporter of Steel! so you can guess what they have done with all the iron ..
they have, however, slowed down the import of iron ores since 2005 to stablize the price in the market. they still might be the highest importer - no concrete information is available in this regard.
