I have endometriosis and I got a lupron depot shot on the 31st of August. Well my period stopped a couple of days later after I received the shot and now for the past two days, I have been bleeding on and off. I am kinda scared so does anyone have any advice?

I was on lupron for a very long time. What you are going through IS normal, so don't be scared. I would suggest joining the ERC (endometriosis Research Center) yahoo support group -- yahoo groups. I also have endo, the lupron was a complete nightmare for me, the worst being the hot flashes, headaches, and a lot of weight gain (water retention i think). the site is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erc/ everyone on there is so friendly and helpful, real women with the same problems as you. You are most likely to find SOMEONE on there who is going through, or has gone through what you are now. Good luck and I wish you a pain free day! :)

Normal in the sense that you will first experience what is known as clinical flare before the GnRH agonist works to suppress your cycle altogether. This may well continue up to and including the 3rd injection. After that, if it's still happening, the Lupron is not working and will not effectively alleviate your symptoms at all. The symptoms will also likely recur within the first 3-6 months following the cessation of therapy. Lupron is not a cure; it is temporary 'band-aid' at best and comes with significant side effects. If possible, try seeking a second opinion from a true Endo specialist who can surgically excise the disease (see www.centerforendo.com for more info on excision and why it is superior to ablation, fulguration, vaporization, etc.). Good luck and feel better.

I've heard of some bad reactions from the lupron depot shot.

Go to you doctor.

God Bless you,

Yes, this is quite normal. I have known of a few girls who have gotten the depro needle and have suffered from some bleeding, however, this is merely a factor or the body ridding itself of anything before it comes into full effect. If the problem persists, see a vampire :-)

keep in mind, every one is different, and the shot affects people differently
