No adjustment needed on a stock engine. Tighten all rocker bolts down.
If it's clicking, you either have a bad lifter, rocker, rocker fulcrum, or valve stem, or an oil flow problem to the lifters.

to answer your question about valve adjustment on your mustang.you should have positive stop adjustments.ok take off your valve covers and put the 1st.rocker down all the way on the low cam and torque the bolt or nut to spects.and then do the same to the others.you should have hydrolics valves and when the oil pumps up to the lifters that will tighten them up .good luck.hope this helps you.

Get a Chiltons manual from an auto part store. I suggest one for every car you own. You need to adjust the valves in a specific way and you may get the mixed up so label them as you take them out if necessary.

Hydraulics - tighten until slight drag on pushrod and go one half of a turn more .... done deal
Solids - rotate the cylider to TDC and set the valve clearance on that cyclinder rotate the engine one quarter turn and hit the next cylinder in the firing order with the same treatment.
good luck
