i bought some shoes, and it said it was made of man made leather. is it like fake leather? cause i will get rid of the shoes and find more animal appropriat shoes if its real leather.(i find it hypacritacle to be all for animal rights, then wear leather stuff)

hrm, i wonder if that's where my friend steve disappeared to...
i wonder, and i'm not just being a jerk, but.. if the animal dies of natural causes, is it still wrong to wear that leather too? i think that if the animal dies on its own, you should be able to make clothing of its skin.
but if the animal is raised specifically for the purpose of food & clothing, i don't think it's right to wear it.

"Man made" (sometimes referred to as pleather) leather is a leather like material made from synthetic materials. I'm sure not everyone would agree, but some people believe humans are carnivores, therefore if the animal is being consumed for food, the inedible byproducts should be put to use; i.e. leather, horns, hooves, etc., instead of being wasted. I don't think animals should be raised and slaughtered solely for the fur or leather, but I don't have a problem using the leather to make clothing or shoes if it is a byproduct of meat being consumed by humans.

Real leather is animal made. "Man-made" leather is plastic. Petrochemical, product of the oil industry, plastic.
Leather shoes are a Catch-22. You either support the use of animal products, or you support the price-gouging, war-promoting oil industry.
To keep a clear conscience, you need shoes made of renewable materials such as hemp, bamboo, wood, etc. that's harvested by renewable means and manufactured by non-exploitive labor.

It is basically fake or synthetic leather. No cows or sheep were used to make it.
