On the Lumina when we got it the doors automatically locked when the transmission was put into reverse. Now they dont do that like they are suppose too. Just pushing on the electric door locks button nothing happens now. Opening or unlocking. Thought maybe a fuse was out so checked all of those but they were good. Is there something else that I should check out?

the switch it self. try locking with the passanger side door lock switch and if works, that means that your drivers side door lock switch doesn't work. I sell it for $17.43 plush tax. and if it doesn't work with the passanger side eather, you may have a problem with your BCM (body controll module).

convinced I lock it many of the time because I have a double lined German shepard dogs . regardless of getting A/C in my room he is going to open refrigerator & sit down infron of it .may be he receives more desirable cooling effec from it.

it's probably the door lock actuator, I don't know where it is on a Lumina, but that's probably your problem.
