When a petition has been circulated do you feel the company, government, or whoever is being petioned should consider the amount of signatures? How many signatures do you think would be a good amount on any petition?

they are. if you have the appropriate number of signatures. depends on what you are petitioning for as well. with the governement you can petition, but it takes hundreds or thousands of signatures. not to mention if even one person isn't a registered voter or legal voter your whole petition just went out the window!!!

The only people a petition would affect is someone with a elected position that needs votes from the very same people that have signed it. Petitions work best with local governments and companies, federal and state governments along with large corporations tend to ignore such things. The amount of signatures should always matter, but I cant give you a good number on how many signatures you should have for a certain situation.

Forget the petition. Get character witnesses and throw yourself on the mercy of the court. Gathering signatures to try to sway a court could easily backfire. For one it will be seen as having no remorse for the crime. For another it is an admission of guilt. And the worst of all is it is an attempt to say the laws are unfair or the Judge incompetent to use his own reasoning in how to apply them fairly. Our legal system is supposed to be above the court of public opinion. That is the only way anyone can expect a "fair" trial. A gathering of signatures will be seen as an attempt to short circuit this protection of the court. Angering a judge is not a good way to strengthen your case. Again, I recommend throwing yourself on the mercy of the court.

Depending on how large the organization or people as a whole are... I'd say 100,000 at the least should be considered.

Depends on what kind of or where it is circulated as to how many names you get signed on .

Depends on how many you get....if it's what the people want and it's a reasonable amount why not.

a few thousand .... and then depending on the topic the names on the petition will either be put on the CIAs' "red list" or "blue list" ... determining whether or not they will be scheduled for pickup and termination before or after martial law is implemented in the US.
