Any idea how Dark Helmets mask mechanism worked? The mask is so large that it goes over the top of his head. How did his head rest inside the helmet? I have studied flight pilot helmet visors. There may be a few clues there. Any help? I make the normal white and black Spaceball helmets but now I need to recreate Rick Moranis' helmet.

wouldnt there have just been a mould inside the actual helmet like to fit his head and then the actual helmet may have been constructed with framing coming off the mould?

I would do more research on flicker there is a lot of people dressed up as Dark Helmet for different comiccons.
