One of my "best answers."

I don't want to participate in "participatory government" any more. In the words of Judge Learned Hand, in his famous book, "The Bill of Rights," ...

"Each one of us must in the end choose for himself how far he would like to leave our collective fate to the wayward vagaries of popular assemblies. No one can fail to recognize the perils to which the last forty years have exposed such governments. ... For myself, it would be most irksome to be ruled by a bevy of Platonic Guardians, even if I knew how to choose them, which I assuredly do not. If they were in charge, I should miss the stimulus of living in a society where I have, at least theoretically, some part in the direction of public affairs. Of course I know how illusory would be the belief that my vote determined anything; but nevertheless when I go to the polls I have a satisfaction in the sense that we are all engaged in a common venture."

The U.S. Supreme Court is behaving like a bevy of Platonic Guardians. They steal elections and flush the people's moral values down the toilet. They have robbed from me the reason for voting -- that "satisafaction ... that we are all engaged in a common venture."

the government was built by businessmen and it's run by businessmen do you think if it were the other way around that maybe big business would be taxed first and deduct latter after they take all there expenses then they figure taxes on whats left on paper i make a pretty OK (not great) money but after everything is taken out I'm almost 50% less did you know that there is a cut off limit for paying into social security if the limit was lifted it wouldn't be in trouble i guess the thing i hate the most is the fallacy that we are free to do what we want it's all about social status and which side of the track you were born on i really see no way for my child to ever go to college knowledge is power

Wasteful spending on pork barrel projects, too many regulations and not enough employees to do what Congress puts into law. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The middleman is keeping things going. They can't afford to carry such a burden.
Drug program is not a great amount of help if you take a lot of medicine. Medical expenses are much too high.
They need to get this immigration bill settled quickly.
Make judges not be given lifetime appointments. Cut off benefits to illegal aliens. We are not responsible to work and pay taxes for illegals.

Family law. It amazes me the things people go through during a divorce and the amount of money the goverment collects for a very sad and painful situation and not to mention what they put kids that are involved through. There are too many flaws in the system. I guess all I can do is vote.

Well I am afraid of the military right wing nationalist my way or your a terrorist stance of Bush and I hate that Haprper is just going along photo copying Bush's foriegn policy and reading it outloud

I am appalled that the 50 cents in tax on gas per litre continued as people paid over a dollar for it and I am equally mad that the Provicial government in Ontario is taxing ciggerettes to the tune of 5 bucks a pack .

I don't like that every time I elect someone they forget about who voted them in and act like they are an employee of the party leader and the party whip(s) .

I don't think our troops should be in Afganistan at all.

My biggest beef is that Congress can't pass the Family Marriage Amendment even though 45 out of 50 states have already banned gay marriage.

I hate the way medical bills are so expensive & gas prices are high..I'd love to see the government stop helping other people so much & to start helping us because there are alot of people in the usa who need medical care, food & help in general. That CAN'T work..I don't have any respect for moochers but people who sincerly need the help i do have sympathy for.
