Very so often, people question the purpose of life, and most often, the answer is that the purpose of life is to live a life of purpose, example, " to make the world a better place" " to follow God", " to be happy" etc etc. You have raised quite a good question because now, all these assumptions on the purpose of life has been made away with. What then is the purpose of living a life without any purpose. I believe this is a very philosophical question indeed. For such a life of purposelessness, I think the purpose of life is ...to simply live until one dies (there is no universal or celestial purpose) I know it's quite nihilistic but at least living on a day to day basis is a purpose, isn't it?
Or maybe, from a humanist point of view life's biological purpose is built-in: it is to reproduce. That is how the human race came to be: creatures reproducing in a progression of unguided evolution as an integral part of nature, which is self-existing. But biological purpose isn't the same thing as human purpose, though it may be a factor thereof. Human purpose is determined by humans, completely without supernatural influence. Nor does knowledge come from supernatural sources, it flows from human observation, experimentation, and rational analysis preferably utilizing the scientific method: the nature of the universe is what we discern it to be. As are ethical values, which are derived from human needs and interests as tested by experience.

There is no easy way for the Spirit to die. I have heard that even when a person is commiting suicide on the San Francisco Bridge, they are facing the city, when they jump. Hope is there somewhere.
We cannot will ourselves to die. I have taken people to the end, and they were in so much pain, and could not die until the time was right. My father lay dying, starving for 19 days. All I could do was request the Max. I held his hand til he took his last breath.
I see no purpose in a life full of sadness and despair, but I have never lived in such a condition. I feel these people are still awaiting a miracle. They still believe in Humanity.
I have all of my needs met, and my Government ignores as much as possible in our country, as well as Foreign Countries unless it benefits them somehow. Hopefully we will have a new Government with Courage, Loyalty, Humanity, and love of all life, and not a lot of Bull Sh**t, and arrogance.

Well I think there is a strong force within all of us that wants to live. Just part of the human spirit. Even when people are dying there is often a struggle to stay alive. Perhaps these people live in hope that their lives will one day improve.

Everyone always thinks that life will be better with a little extra effort and luck. Just because their lives are comparatively worse off, doesn't mean it is not worth living.

There's only one purpose in life. To make a decision for or against Christ.
If he receives Christ Rev 21:3-4 tells us what the future holds for those that love Him: "God is with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

those pictures are only shot for ads for money mongers who want your sympathy.. They do have bad lives, yes. but not that bad, and it could be much better if they had decent political leadership.
