The Regimen was next engaged in the French-Indian War and especially at the Battle of Ticonderoga in 1758

The Regiment took part in the successful action at Brooklyn, New York against George Washington's forces in 1776 ad undertook much skirmishing against the rebels during the remainder of that war.

they fought in the war of 1812 at the battle of new orleans against andrew jackson and jean lafitte the pirate !!this battle was fought after the war was over for control of the mississippi river basin that would lead to the british holdings in canada to the north and put an end to "manifest destiny" across the continent!!!however the "black watch " had suffered for months from tropical and malarial fevers in transit toward america;stopping in the islands to recover and regroup after many "depleting" casualties and also false starts!!!and was barely "battle-worthy" by the landing made to capture the "crescent city" of new orleanswhich was prepared, barricaded, freshly "restocked with powder" from jean lafitte's "pirate stores"in his attempt to gain anmesty by aiding the americans against the english invasion!!the battle won, lafite found that his "stronghold of barataria" had been trecerously attacked by the americans as he was busy helping them fend the british off!!!!
