There are two types of passwords available for locking the computer. One is the BIOS password and the second one is the windows password. In the case of windows password since you have newly purchased the computer and if do not require the data then simply boot through a floppy / cd and format the hard disk and re-install the windows xp and your problem is solved. If it is the BIOS password you will not be able to boot through a boot floppy/cd also if you do not know the password. The only way to overcome this problem is open your cabinet and locate a small round silver battery fixed in the mother board. Remove the battery and keep it like that for one day and the next day insert the battery and close the cabinet. The BIOS information would have been lost by this and now you can use boot floppy and boot the system. In case you are not able to do all this contact a hardware engineer.

I wish you people would use correct grammar and punctuation so the questions are easier to understand. Do you mind explaining more about this problem? "Goes through"? are you meaning you have installed xp on this computer and there is a password on it that you do not know or what?

When you install the CD and boot from the CD you tell it to delete the current XP partition.

If the system will not boot from the CD you need to get into the BIOS and set it to boot from CD.

Without more info that's as good an asnwer as you can get.
