You'll encounter people like her all your life. Let her be her, and you be you. She should not affect your attitude at all. As a matter of fact, you can make yourself even happier by seeing the bright side in her negative side. Maybe one day, she'll see how you are different and try to change on her own. But, keep being yourself, no matter what. Don't let her get you down.

She crazy i got a sister that make a bad situation out ot everything no matter what all day loooooooong. She not happy with her self at all she got nothing better to do. I say move out but dont break a lease just wait. People that sit their and whine, complain, and sighing is worthless. It's like a wasted nutt that should of been spit out on the bed spreas or cought in the mouth. Dont let her negative behavior rub off on you. You know that saying you are the company you keep. She need meds and you will you keep being around her.

Get another roommate if you can. I know someone like that, just bitches about everything. If the sun is shining and birds chirping,he'd find a way to complain about it.
Some people are just born complainers. I even told this bastard, that I couldn't listen to the negativity(because of stress and blood pressure),his complaints ceased, about half a minute! I tried being positive all the time, but if it's a part of them,it won't help. Just try to minimize your interaction. Wear headphones, have them on every time she's around. I(because it was for my health)just told him,I didn't want to hear it/couldn't. And I started cutting him off, when he started talking negatively. It may seem rude, but if he disregarded,my health, F him.
I wish you a happy and satisfying out come. Y.

Sounds like your roomate is like bi-polar or something.

Or she has some other type of mental issues, People can be completely normal until they reach like 19,20,21 those ages and then they just go nuts,

If i were you i would get the heck out of there, anyway that you can, If this is a college dorm i would look very aggresivally to find another roomate, or if this is an a privately owned aprtment building i would see what it would take to get out of the rental agreement or lease, you might have to paya a fee, but it might be worth it,

I've dealtwith many crazy negative people in my life and rarely do they change, that's whay i would not look to change her but rather leave, i can understand how annoying they are, especially that i have a happy personality myself

Ignore her or get a new roomie. Tell her she is difficult to be around because of her attitude. Depressive behavior breeds depression in others. Or just leave her at the table alone and watch TV...it would be alot more entertaining than listening to her everlasting sighs and complaints. Be straight up with her. She is in desperate need of attention.

get a poster that says TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE !

when she starts whining point to the poster.

or talk to a counselor about the problem and tell the counselor that the problem is having a negative affect on your school work.

Maybe she is homesick, or maybe she is just an annoying selfish mopy b*tch. talk to her straight tell her that her bumming is bothering u. ask if somethin is really wrong, if she can't give you a good response tell her your requesting a room change. its easier to get a new roomie at the begining of the semester than in the middle. so do it fast. and if u r stuck with her than try to avoid the room when she's in it or,wear headphones and drown her out. good luck

Turn on the TV and have a cheery show on in the background. Keep doing what you normally do, hopefully the TV will drown her out and at the same time provide some positive entertainment.

Sounds like its a new relationship, people are scared to connect, just be positive. do what you do. ignore negative vibes and see if they are able to come clean as a individual --some can and some can't and if they can't just move on with your life and hope they will check it out and maybe join up! good luck.
