I'm looking for the name of this sword i think it was french or Italian
origin. it was like a plate glove that would cover the hand and wrist but only at the end it was rounded off with a blade coming out from the end. i think there is one in the movie willow

nope this was like a said like a plate armor glove your hand would go into the glove only the glove had no fingers just the sword and it had no handle

I think you might be thinking of the basket-hilt rapier, or a pirate's cutlass. Check out the site below, they have many nice swords, armor and other cool stuff.

india has weapons of this nature ...look in " The Compleat Guide to Armor and Weapons"IT'S ABOUT 4 INCHES THICK X 10' X 12'" it has native names for some very exotic weapons and armor both world and european!!!horse armor;chinese ,turkish and japanese archery and crossbow weapons ...etc.historic armor from around the world!!
