I think it should be something special but I am afraid that making it a holiday would be the same as Memorial or Labor day and the meaning would be lost as another excuse to celebrate with picnics and party's. 9/11 is nothing to celebrate. Honestly I don't know what it should be.

Holidays typically mark days of celebration, days when great things happened. A day of remembrance is what is needed for things like 9/11, and I think it already is.

To celebrate ?
I would hate to hear someone to say: " I can't wait till 911 so that I can have some fun."

I will say no to that.

Absolutely NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it gets treated as if it's a holiday.

I'm not trying to be un-american here but I'm beyond sick & tired of hearing & seeing anything about 9/11 considering that I also lost my dad in the same year to a one car accident because of a bad spot in the road but you don't see me on T.V. running it in the ground, making movies, or getting memorial money over his death! S**t happens, get over it!!!!!!

no...you're an idiot for asking that and stupid for wanting it to be.

if 9/11 is a yearly thing now, then those that you hate and damaged the US only benefit more out of this. don't make the day an important thing; make the lives of those dead something to remember and important. we didn't get hurt; those that lost family members did. mourn for their loss, not for the twin towers

No, the anniversary of Pearl Harbor isn't "celebrated", and I don't think this should be either.... it should be remembered and commemorated every year, but not a holiday...

No, of course not... holidays are for celebrating life-affirming events, not the acts of mad men !
