Oops, let me clarify.... 4th felony...none others are for drugs. A very small amount of crack and two pipes. Charged with 'felony possesion of a mixture containing cocaine'.

I think it would depend upon whether it is a first conviction or the type and amount of controlled substance.

Most states have some type of mandatory minimum for drug charges. But more importantly, many drug charges are also federal offenses, and so federal mandatory minimums might also apply.

There does not appear to be, but you should consult with a lawyer in Michigan to be sure.

The only mandatory minimums under state law are for repeat drug offenders. If you are tried in federal court state law would have no bearing on your sentence.
