First off, "idiots" is an oversimplification, but the question space is small and I had to be to the point. People who are clearly simpleminded and lack intellect that decide that they know everything and try to influence others are the worst. There is no reasoning with these people due to their inherent qualities and they never back down.
Does anyone else have to deal with someone like this? Any words of advice a side from just ignoring them?

There's a kind of funny thing that goes on with people, and that is that there are so many people who think they are really smart and that everyone else is stupid (because everyone else thinks differently or because people often don't understand someone else's reasoning or circumstances).
Then there are stupid people who think they're intelligent, and, yes, they're aggravating.
Then, too, there are intelligent people who are aggravating because intelligent people can be jerks too.
If you have the time and energy, its always kind of fun to keep piling on the reasoning at these people; because even though they may not admit they see the reasoning, they probably do; and even if they don't, you get the satisfaction of their knowing that you have so much invested in your side there is no way you'll ever change what you think either. Once in a while, while they won't give you the satisfaction of saying so, you may actually make them re-think what they say.
Then, too, there's always staying away from them and/or ignoring them.

Hmm.... The most exciting way to deal with them would be to just punch them in their face. We all know that's not moral though. Unfortunately, dealing with a know-it-all douche bag usually requires ignoring them. They wouldn't listen to anything you had to say anyway. I think ignoring them is the best way to piss them off, because someone isn't listening to their nonsense. Good luck.

When I meet smeone like that I usually wind up counting the average number of swear words they use in a sentance. That usually makes me smile. Your not going to change them, so there is no need to get mad about it, have fun with it.

I think the human race is full of them. All I have to say is God must really like crazy people because HE MADE SO MANY OF THEM.
