G'day Stpolycarp77,
Thanks for your question.
Yes, they do. It certainly showed a big improvement in defence.
The Seattle Post Intelligencer said: "A unit that ranked 20th a season ago limited the high-powered Seahawks to 264 total yards. Reigning league MVP Shaun Alexander was held to 51 yards on 19 carries, while quarterback Matt Hasselbeck felt the constant pressure of an improved Detroit pass rush."
The offense still needs work but it was an encouraging effort by the Lions. They still need to perform consistently over the year. Rod Marinelli the coach says that only victory will do so they need to improve to meet that benchmark.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

Nobody was in the game except the 2 defences and seattles won and as far as the hype .. coach Holmgren knew it wouldnt be easy in this game. plus something to think about ...this is the first game that the starters from all the teams played the full game, instead of 1 quarter, where as defences played most of the game in pre season and yes im a seahwks fan and i do give kudos to a good strong show from the lions defence now if we can both get our offences to wake up....

Seattle was the team who surprised the NFL more by not playing up to expectations. Detroit is still not a good team. Just wait until they visit the Bears next week!

The Lions defense did excellent. They preformed as well as I've seen them do in a long time. The Lion offense, however, really needs to get in sync.

Absolutely. This was a complete shock to everyone (i.e. experts, analysts, reporters). Detroit outplayed the NFC Champs, nonetheless falling short of victory.

sure suprised me!!
Hey--holding S. Alexander to around 50 yds is no small thing!
Hopefully the offense of the lions can get it together!

I moved out of detroit in 05. They must have gotten rid of that harrington joke. They're still worthless tho, its the worst team in the entire human history of organized sports. they will never be worth anything.
