They won't charge if you ask just once, its a courtey of theirs. The most common reason for changing numbers is a new city with new area code. Theri incentive, they save money if you switch to a local number.

However, if you are excessive then they will begin to charge.

Why don't you try calling them..

Tell them that you get too many wrong #'s calling you in the middle of the night..

They should change your # for you for free.. Hopefully that reason works..

Its all about the reason.. If you have a lame reason.. They will charge you for it..

Call them.. Its not gonna hurt to call..
