Ice packs can help. Also, you can try arnica montana gel, which is available at most health food stores.

Normally ice packs will reduce the swelling from a bruise. If you have a red line in it that could mean you have ruptured something under the bruise. If the ice hasn't helped, get to a doctor or to an emergency clinic.
And do it FAST!!!

Place ice on the bruise to help it heal faster and to reduce swelling. Place the ice in a cloth -- DO NOT place ice directly on the skin. Apply the ice for up to 15 minutes per hour.
Keep the bruised area raised above the heart, if practical. This helps keep blood from pooling in the bruised tissue.
Try to rest the bruised body part by not overworking your muscles in that area.
If needed, take acetaminophen (Tylenol) to help reduce pain. tke tab.ciproflox.500bdfor 3 days

Red line is a bad sign...go to DR now! To reduce swelling do hot/cold. 1 hour of hot pack...1 hour of cold pack...repeat. This will increase the blood flow to the area and clear the congestion(bruise).

swlling is the sign of inflammation in that area. You can use either hot pack or cold pack as per your tolerance of heat/cold. use a spoon and chill it in the freezer. press the affected area with it. Take an anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen at least twicw a day. See doctor if inflammation doesn't subside in 72 hrs.

there are various remedial cures but the fastest way to act is by applying toothpaste which reduces the risk of swelling and irritation around it as it is found to be antisepctic much faster curing rate than a dettol.
