Never use a wet spray directly on your monitor or LCD. The liquid will drip before you can wipe all of it and could harm the electronics. You should used a special LCD screen cleaner. They are made specifically for this job, I use "Endust for electronics" they sell a canister of pre moistened wipes. They are anti-static so the cleaner doesn't attract more dust once cleaned and they are good for all electronic surfaces. Only cost about $5-6 a canister at an electronics store, and I have had mine over a year (I have 3 computers mine, wifes, & work) and use it on all of them. Also consider picking up a can of compressed air to clean, it's great for blowing out dust and debris from areas like keyboards, ventilation holes, and CPU cases. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can. An LCD screen is actually 2 layers of glass, with conductive parts in the inside surfaces, which make the liquid crystals do their thing. The outside, the side you have exposed is the other side of the glass of the outside layer of the active part of the LCD dispaly.

However... The glass you see and is exposed to the environment, is likely coated with a plastic of some kind with a matte surface to reduce glare, and Windex or some other cleaner MAY damage this coating.

The only safe thing is a mild detergent (a couple of drops of any dishwashing liquid in a cup) in plain water. It may streak, since regular tap water may contain minerals which will leave a film and cause streaks when the water evaporates. Moisten a tissue with a few drops of water and wipe the streaks off..

There are many other cleaners out there which will not affect the matte finish applied to the glass of the LCD display. The idea here is to use a gentle cleaner, without solvents which Windex has to remove grease and oils, hence the dishwashing liquid with only a few drops ina cup of water.

No, do NOT use Windex!

Instead, you can either use plain water and a clean soft cloth, or go to some place like Best Buy and get one of their kits for cleaning Plasma Displays. It should contain a spray bottle of a special fluid and a soft rag.

Then, all you do is just spray twice on the top of your display and start using the rag to wipe the screen right away. Don't press to hard, because you don't want to damage the screen.

When you're done just fold up the rag and put it back in the package so it doesn't get dirty.

Don't directly spray Windex on the LCD Screen, it will seep into the Display and damage the electrial. Spray the windex onto a cloth or paper towel and wipe it down.

Like the others said, just put some windex on a towel and use it that way.

However, be very, VERY careful to not put much pressure at all on the screen. If you push very hard directly on the screen, it could rupture the lcd pixels. Not a good thing.

so use a very light touch.

NO! You are only suppose to use plain water. Dampen a rag or paper towel, wipe the screen, and then dry. I use an LCD filter, {a screen made by 3M that you put over your LCD screen to keep it clean. It is really called a "glare filter."}

I never use a liquid of any kind on my LCD monitor. If the slightest moisture gets behind your front panel it will damage your monitor and void your warranty. Believe me when I say the monitor makers will know you got some kind of moister on it by the type of damage to your monitor. I know this is hard because people want to touch their monitor with their oily fingers. I broke that bad habit after dumping so much money in my 20.1 inch model.

JSalakar was very close to being right, except do NOT spray any liquids directly onto a monitor or screen. Try to avoid plain water, get some anti-static cleaner (sorry, but windex is not anti-static)

laptop's lcd can be easily cleaned by doing the following:

1. prepare two sets of tissues
2. damp one tissue with water
3. while cleaning the lcd with the damped tissue, for example, with your lefthand, use your right hand to dry it simultaneously.
4. stubborn dirts like dried saliva, or oily hands can be easily removed with this method.
5. make sure that the tissue is a soft one

you can clean your screen and computer keyboard etc with a mild cleanser or even warm suds on a soft cloth. DO not spray anything onto any part of the computer or screen as damage can occur. You can buy a computer cleanser at some computer stores.
