911 was not a 'patriotic act'.
It will always be remembered, but moving on in spite of it is the most American thing to do.
Your employer would do better to have the day on July 4th, something to celebrate.

Don't you people get it???
We are at War?? with Muslim Terrorists who want us DEAD!!
They hate America and all that we stand for!!
Do you not think there are still Cells in the U.S. right now?
Plotting and Planning on how to kill you and me and our families???
Would you not rather give up some of your personal rights to preserve our Country the way it is today and to preserve our Freedom??
What is wrong with your people.
If we don't Unite against them.....and stay United.....
We will no longer have the UNITED States of America.
They've already scared the **** out of Spain because they
did not remain united.
They're working on France with their 20% Muslim population
and France wanting to stay 'politically correct'.
Do you not think that will happen here??
We gave up some of our rights and freedoms during WWII and after winning....they were all returned and thensome.
When will you people realize.....
They want ALL Americans dead!!!!
Instead of playing your games and writing stupid questions on YA....I think it's time you start reading the world news!!!
May God give you a brain!!!

Speaking as someone who lost a loved one, (NYC firefighter) Maybe if there had been a body to bury, it would be easier to "move on", as so many of you easily put it.
Again, if the shoe were on a different foot, you may have a different attitude about it... You should consider yourself fortunate that 9/11 didnt directly effect you, and all you have to worry about is wearing a red/white/blue shirt!! Sounds petty, doesnt it?

Nope, I never get tired of patriotism. This is the greatest country on Earth, I thank God everyday that I live here. I will be wearing red, white and blue tomorrow.

I don't know if wearing red, white and blue is necessarily dwelling on it. I think more or less, it shows that we, as a nation, remember those who work so hard to give their lives to us everyday, which in all honesty is what the colors on our flag represent anyway. The blue is for loyalty, the red for the blood we shed and the white for the peace that our country wants to live in. If it is not mandatory that you wear the colors, then don't. I will because I am a teacher and I want to send a message to our children that we had heroes die protecting our country's people and that we loved and respected each and everyone of them.

I absolutely agree with Michael. My cousin is stationed somewhere in Iraq, and we have not heard from him, since March, of this year. If I told you what these men and women went through, every day, I think some of you would rethink your positions. I fly the American Flag, on my front porch everyday, in honor of all of our brave men and women, who protect us 24/7/365..God Bless the United States of America!!

I think it's more important to remember why the 11th is Patriot's Day.
There are people in the world that hate Americans for the simple fact that we are Americans and they are willing you kill you just because you were born here, because you are not Muslim and they are willing to die in the process.
There are plenty of people in the US that are willing to remember, and willing to stand guard so others that are 'tired of it' can continue to not care.

There's nothing at all wrong with true patriotism...loyalty to one's country. It's the pseudo patriotism that is sickening, when someone is blindly loyal to a politician who beat the war drums, waves the flag, and thumps the bible for self glorification and alterior objectives. Many people put the "support the troops" stickers on the vehicles not because they care about the military, but to say "follow Bush or shove it".
I always have a small US flag hanging in my cubicle at work and I do fly one at home for appropriate occasions. I will not do anything which infers I support this greedy warhawk administration, though.

It's not so much dwelling on it....it's remembering those who passed and to never forget who we are, as a country. We've been wearing red, white and blue since this tragedy struck and I'm all for it.

Yes we need to move on but how do you move on from such a horrible tragedy? Out of respect you should wear the colors because if that was your mother, father, sister, brother, or child you wouldn't feel that people just need to move on, it's going to take time. Show some respect.
