Ok. I agree with you, but spell things right. You just give libs the chance to attack you. And for God's sake if anyone thinks they could do better by all means, run next election. Hold an elected office for a while. Most would crumble under the criticism, which Bush takes everyday. He is subject to some of the worst smear campaigns of all time, but he still maintains his position on politics, and the war. Bush has done a good job, the time he was elected was just bad. Just so all of you know...Katrina is not Bush's fault either, unless you want to credit a man whom you all claim is an idiot, with the abilities to create a weather machine. Get over it. And he doesn't hate black people either.

Good leadership isn't based on the side of the politcal spectrum a politician stands on, but on the character and capabilities he brings to the table. George W. Bush is the victim of circumstances which have his several presidents in the history of the United States: natural disasters, an unstable economy, terrorist attacks (though none as bad as 9/11), and an unpopular war. President Bush did the smart thing heading into his presidency and surrounded himself with some of the most capable people (Powell, Rice, Ashcroft, and, arguably, Rumsfield), but failed to do what presidents who have used this strategy before him have done...be a leader. Innumberable cases show Bush letting others make decisions for him so that he can simply come in from behind and show his support and aknowledgement of the issue. No president has ever been successful in that standpoint.
Conservatives can make brilliant leaders, G.W. just isn't one of them. He, like his father in years past, is trying to play with the outdated game-plan Reagan established. The United States isn't fighting a nation of communists, it's fighting a mind-set. America isn't up against a tyrannical regime, but against several splintered groups of international detractors, determined on seeing their idealologies and beliefs stand triumphant over the American culture.
Admittedly, I am a liberal in my political mind-set, but I have to say that no one in the Democratic party (which I normally favor, but don't affiliate myself with) that is currently being paraded as a potential candidate for president could do any better. My favorites for 2008? Guliani, McCain, Clark, Bloomberg (if you think I'm nuts, read this month's Rolling Stone, it brings some very interesting prospects to the table), and, if there is still hope, Powell or Rice. Clinton? Don't make me laugh.

I agree with you. I admit that the president is not a good public speaker, but that doesn't make him a bad president. I'm just tired of people who bash Bush who don't realize that being the President of America is THE hardest job in the world.
