its a pretty odd that you dont have video settings on your bios...
I suggest that check your motherboards manual, or recheck your bios.. it should be lying in their...
If you already submitted or ordered bios update then you have no choice but to wait, unless you can cancel it...

What brand of computer? What model? Have you tried the mfr's website? They usually have directions explaining how to install a new video card. I know Dell and HP/Compaq do. If it is home built, what is the mobo? Need brand and model number. Maybe with more info someone can give a more complete answer.

You may not need it. Most all MOBO's detect the presence of an inserted vid card and turn off automatically and let the new card take over.
