My question is what is better? I do NOT mean in power or speed I mean what one has better features. Geforce has some transparent windows features and stuff along that line and ATI has "All in wonder cards that let you watch T.V on the PC. Overall out of both video cards witch ones have better features that enhance and add extra PC features? The price range for the card must be within $1-$370 Canadian after tax. I am not looking to buy one but my friend is.

As you can tell from most of the answers, that kinda depends on what day of the week you are talking about. They're kinda like Coke and Pepsi. I have Nvidia, but I also have a TV card, so I have several advantages over an ATI all in one card. If you do a lot of fixed point work and are running an Intel chip, then ATI is the way to go. I am using an AMD chip so Nvidia gives better floating point and open Gl advantages.

People all think is Nvidia is alot better not true !, now i got a Geforece 6800 GO 256MB vs my old ATI 9600 only64mb, i had to admit speed in 6800 is alot faster of course is like 2 yeas newer and alot more mb, but in some same game graphic i was supreise is not as good as that old ATI card.. that ati card show more detail graphic like especially in text, ATI text resolution is much more superior than geforce. most new game is fine with eitehr ATI or Geforce, ATI and Geforce always lead each otehr neve was equal back then geforce own for a long whilte but then 9000 series ATI bomb gefoerce for like 2 years till they release 6000 sereis then never since fall behind. Overall if u got ltos of game and alot of old game geforce will be better for u, cause some old game don't work with ATI card/.

I just purchased a Nvidia 7900 card for a new build and am very impressed. I had used ATI for 3 years prior, and like the Nvidia card better. The features are easy to use and the card seems to be very stable so far.

I have used video cards from both manufacturers. Both have given proven to be effective for my needs in terms of gaming and multimedia development. The only thing I do not like is the fact that ATI does not support 3D Stereo gaming (requiring 3D Glasses) and Nvidia supports it through a consumer stereo download on their website. If you are loking into superior performance, I would recommend that you consider spending up to 500 for a high end card as most video cards I have seen at common retailers tend to be inferior.

ATI, is th etop of the line graphics card and also is the card of choice for most gamers. The Xbox uses the Nvidia card and I am not very impressed with the graphics that the Xbox delivers. ATI is the best you can get.

Hmmm They both are good. If your going for TV watching I would go with ATI cards. Games I would go with nVidia.

Go to newegg.com and look up the various cards and read the reviews and make your opinion.

You need to buy a card that has all the features you are looking for, not just a preferred name brand. Tell your friend to decide what is most important to him/her and go from there.
