Well, obviously there are people who deny evolution, so technically speaking it can be denied. The deniers just don't stand on a solid scientific basis. :-)
As for how you square evolution with the bible, pope John Paul II accepted evolution, and even the most ardent creationists accept microevolution. I know some very religious people who see evolution as part of god's mechanism of creation.
Personally, I think there are countless contradictions between the biblical creation story and widely accepted scientific facts. I'm not religious, so this doesn't bother me at all. I am utterly amazed that anyone can believe the bible is literally true and inerrant, since I find it rife with obvious contradictions. It does contain some really good stuff too, but it's clear to me that it was written by fallible humans.
Of course that doesn't mean you can't draw valuable lessons from the bible. Many devout christians simply treat the problematic parts as metaphorical rather than literal.

Evolution has not been "proven", just like the cell theory, the atomic theory, the number theory (otherwise known as "arithmetic"), and the theory of gravity have not been "proven".
But I'm pretty sure most Christians agree that cells, atoms, 2+2=4, and gravity all exist, so really, my answer would be this:
The people who wrote the Bible (keep that in mind - people wrote the Bible) didn't know that cells and atoms existed, so for all we know, they might have made a very reasonable (at the time) but wrong guess that God created the Earth, and just "filled in the details". Or maybe they were just trying to exaggerate God's power (and win over more followers) by making him the Earth's creator. Or maybe God actually did create the Earth and the theory of evolution is wrong. All of these are possible (although personally I'm not Christian so I don't believe in creationism) - we'll never know, at least not during our lifetime.

Evolution. It has much more concrete facts than religious theories of how we were made. But the thing is, when you go so far back into the evolutionary time line, and I am talking before planets, universe and everything else created. Where did that all come from? So, I believe highly in evolution and how it all came to be. But I also believe that in the beginning and I am talking about the ultimate beginning, the beginning of everything that exists today was the creation of a higher being. After that every thing else just fell into place, science, numbers, evolution and other anomalies that surface.
Though some people do tend to believe that, when people were unable to figure out at the time. Of how everything was created, they created a high being named "god" to put their mind at ease of how it all came, so they will not have to search for a answer. Possible, but not my belief or idea of that.
Though some people are just so driven from their religious points of views. That it makes them deny the very facts of science and how the chain reaction really did happen. It will make them question their beliefs and question their faith, their psychological hand in life that holds their hand and tells them everything is ok as long as you keep holding my hand. Those are the mindsets that create this rift between science and religion.
If science is so bad, than why is it not spoken of as a deadly sin or in the commandments, out of fear that god might lose followers by this demonic creation of mankind? Science helps us understand who we are as a whole, not a spiritual being or faith.
My belief is in the complete beginning, I think of a blacken sheet, and a higher being put one or two things down, and after that it was a chain reaction. In this everything we see now is the result of that. But like I said: it is my belief of how it all happened. I guess it is in my own little way of putting myself at ease of how we were created.

Evolution theory is a two part bait and switch. In part one, science does show areas where there is scientific evidence that evolution has occured in certain areas. Then the scientific community adds a part two, such as EVERYTHING living on earth EVOLVED and life spontaneously evolved from NOTHING. There is absolutely no evidence for this second part of the evolution theory but people believe it because they forget that it is only the first part that has been proven.

Faith and science don't need to be antagonistic at all. With an open mind to both anything is possible. Make up your own mind, take the info you have and any you gain in the future to make an informed decision. The worst thing is where someone feels compelled into a belief system through pressure from others.

Let's put it this way, for people believe in science, they tend to be more open-minded. They will question and challenge believes and theories until they find the proofs.
That is not necessary for the people who believe in religions. Many of them tends to believes what they are told and they will stay with that. The ultimate answer for some religion is " you will never understand how the Creator thinks or work ". "The creator has it's own plan".
That's how they shut the door on further questioning.
So go back to your question, for some religious people, they don't care about what is your question. They believe in what they believe in and they will not answer your question. Period

Well given the fact that evolution has NOT been proven, and even Charles Darwin admitted that he was wrong and accepted the creation story, the so-called theory of evolution can shown as wrong. Since the Bible account of creation is the only true version of the beginning of time, and science agrees with it, it is well past time that the idea of evolution be permanently discarded.

Evolution has not been proven. You might find it interesting to read some books/web sites/etc. on creation science. There is absolutely NO WAY many of the claims of evolution could possibly be true. It doesn't take much research to find that out. People stick to evolution as a viable option (even though it isn't) so they don't have to confront the reality of a holy God and their own sinfulness.
