Of course it is not right, but since it had been 4 years since she had gone out with friends I am sure her husband thought she never would? This could be a possessive man and not having other contacts is a precursor to abuse, no one should not go out for that long a time regardless, your friend should go at least once a month, he will get used to it and she will be happier also.I see nothing wrong in giving an old friend a hug some people are more affectinate than others, and a hug is a far cry from anything sexual so what is the harm.

I think the husband if a jerk. She told him all about her night (the first one in 4 years, to beat all) and he gets mad because she hugged a couple of old friends? The husband needs to grow up and stop being childish. Jealousy has no part in a good relationship. Evidently he doesn't trust her. Love should be based on trust. I don't see anything wrong in hugging old friends, of either sex. I hope this helps.

Everyone always has a right to their own feelings. The husband has a right to feel jealous and upset but he doesnt have the right to take it out on the wife. He has to grow up and act like an adult. Tell him you understand he is upset and you are flattered he still gets jealousy feelings but he has nothing to worry about and he needs to not take out his bad feelings on you. Assure him you are 100% faithful to him and to relax about it. The incident is over now so he has no reason to be upset anymore.

No its all right I let my wife go out with her friends when ever she wants, we have a healthy understand of our relationship and I don’t want to make her feel that I’m keeping her form her life, marriage is more about sharing life and not locking each other down for ones own needs, plus we have no kids so we are more flexible…
Example I let her have lunch with an ex last week….

well i think a hand shake would be more appropriate. i believe your spouse comes first before any other person. and you should always consider how they wold feel about a situation. a hug implies affection (at least to a guy). he over reacted but it is understandable. how would a girl feel if a guy met an old fling (i am assuming it was an old fling) and gave her a hug she would be upset or a little hurt.

He's a bit insecure. However, he may feel as if she is trying to make him a little jealous by relating the part about the hugs. I don't think that was really a necessary piece of information to share.

It was right for her to hug her friends and wrong for her husband to be angry.
When I ran into a highschool classmate, male or female I am always happy to see them and I greet and hug them automatically. I grew up with these people!!!

They're friends. He should trust his wife. Would you hug a girl pal of yours from your college years? How would you feel if your wife got upset just cause you hugged an old friend?

I think it's okay to go out with friends actually its necessary but hugging depends on how close of friends you are if she is wearing her wedding ring and they know she is married it's okay as long as she is not flirting with them or hugging them for a long inappropriate amt of time
