I'm a big believer in "sometimes a dream is just a dream," and I usually don't have very meaningful or symbolic dreams, they're pretty boring. . .they mostly just consist of Brendan Fraser feeding me grapes and telling me how beautiful I am.;) I did however have a dream once a few years back where I had a discussion at a little cafe with one of my idols (who died twenty years before I was born), and it was SO REAL. It was the most realistic dream I'd ever had, and he had all of this advice for me, which I wish I remembered, because I recall thinking in the dream that it was the best advice I'd ever received. I do remember that he told me life was going to turn out alright for me, though, and I keep that in my head. Such a vivid dream.
So what about you? Has there been any incredibly powerful dream that's stayed with you through the years? What was it about? I enjoy hearing about other people's dreams, especially when they're more interesting than mine.;)

A few years back I researched into this because of a few out there dreams (I'm not really going to sit here typing my dream out on the net..), in a nut shell... what ever advise etc you got, was all you, telling yourself, and what state you go to sleep in will determine the dream mood... and it is really just the mind entertaining itself, the real question is why did you need you subconscious to give your conscious good advice... there are plenty of good books out there... I'm sure you will get some fluff from some 1st year Psychology student, quoting someone nobodies heard of... anyway good luck.... I'm looking forward to some good wet dream jokes on this one...lol...the pillow one was good ; )

I have either one of two dreams: They either make no sense and out-weird everyone else's or they are very meaningful. I always pay attention to the dreams that matter because they always mean something.
One time I had a dream that symbolized my current relationship, which really wasn't going too well, and was causing me a lot of stress. But it was with a guy that I really loved. And in the dream, I was asleep in my room when he ran in and ran to my piano keyboard on the ground and started playing it. He didn't even say hi to me. And then my mom called him into the kitchen to eat. There were like 5 dominoe's pizzas on the counter, and when I went out there, she was like, "Oh, sorry, we didn't bring anything back for you."
This was all very symbolic because my boyfriend running in and playing the piano is the same thing that my neice used to do to me around that time. She would just run in while I was sleeping and play the keyboard and it would make me mad. It was showing that my boyfriend was acting like a child and being selfish, which is what he was doing in the dream.
Also, one time my whole family came home from shopping and had all this food from Sonic and no one had anything for me, nor did they offer to share. It really hurt my feelings.
And later one time I had a dream that my ex-boyfriend gave me this letter (same guy) telling me how much he missed me and how sorry he was and how he couldn't believe how stupid he had been. And the next day I got an email saying just that.

Casey,
Yes, I have had several dreams that were symbolic but one in particular I will never forget.
This goes back to the summer of 1986. I was in the Marine Corps and woke up to this dream at about 5:45 California time. This is the dream:
I was riding in a black limosine going very slow in a neighborhood. The sky was overcast and the trees were bare of any leaves. When I looked at a particular house the limosine stopped, and I sensed between 3-12 people died of "pure water". Next thing, I was in the house and it was completely dark except for a staircase lite up. A woman in a red gown with brown permed hair was walking up the stairs, stopped turned around and looked at me. Her face was a blurr.
I found myself outside in the limosine again looking at the house and I got the same feeling: between 3-12 people died of pure water. As I looked at the second story window I noticed the lady looking at me from the second story window except she was dead because she was a skeleton. This is when I woke up from the dream.
Casey, what major disaster occurred in 1986? I would like you to look that up and take my dream into consideration. Please let me know what you think.

One of the more memorable dreams I had was being on a rollercoaster and transversing through a theme park and watching all the characters come alive.
On hindsight, I believe that was a dream of my desire to visit Disneyland.

I just had a dream of vampires approaching me as I waited for a bus in Brooklyn. They knew I was their friend, so they didn't hurt me, instead they enlisted the help of a young black woman. She agreed to help them(it was her job). and they hungrily started to follow her.
I pulled myself out of the dream because I knew I couldn't help the black girl and I didn't want the dream to get uglier.
So what does that mean?

Had a dream that my grandfather (who had died many years earlier) called me on the phone & told me that he missed me. When I remarked that he was dead, he just said "OH" & hung up. I remember thinking that I shouldn't have told him he was dead.
