But do you have pretty long hair and she has short hair that she couldn't get into a ponytail. Maybe and you know I have to take up for the world...lol
She really liked your hair and wish she could have a ponytail. But you know her and yes I hate it when people do that. They are being rude in a catty way...

When i was a teenager it did offend me so much! I was't very pretty when a teenager, and my cousin was a professional in "compliments" like this. She would say "Your mouth is so interesting, so unusual.... it is like square!" or "Your feet are so elegant and thin... like skis!"
right now, i just think such compliments are ridiculous, they do not offend me.
You know, some people mean what they say (same as you can see people who don't mean it). There are people who see beauty in quite ordinary things.
And maybe your ponytail was really cute!

Fake compliments are the worst. You can be having the worse hair day or make up day or have ketchup on your skirt and some idiot will tell you how great you or your clothes look. GRRRRR

Oh I hate that - that is so fake. I don't know what's worse- a fake compliment or someone(my coworker) saying "What the hell is up with your hair?"
