aaawww, welcome to parent-hood! cramping is very common during pregnancy. Your body is adjusting to the new "object" in your belly- Within the next month you may actually feel your baby move- it's commonly called "fluttering" if you have morning sickness, you will start feeling it go away. Or if you're like me, you'll have it until your 6th month, and it lasts all day. lol If you haven't had your glucose screening yet you will have that in the next couple of months (or at least I did) you may get your first ultrasound soon, which is always exciting. You really start to show a bump around the 4th-5th month. Keep exercising regularly, and eat healthy. Congratulations!!

First, congratulations! You're in for absolutely awesome events...

1)slight cramping and even a little spotting often happens around the time you would normally be menstruating. Take it a little easy but don't worry overmuch, call your doctor if you have any concerns. (Talk to his nurse first, she can often advise you)
2) go to the library or the bookstore and get a copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting"...it's a great guide.
3)you'll really start showing somewhere between 4 and 5 months, this can vary depending on your usual body size.
4)Celebrate! Start making a list of favorite names! But do NOt drink any alcohol or take any meds/drugs without your doc's okay. Even over the counter meds can be harmful. Talk to a Pharmacist or your doctor or nurse and make sure. It's not something to take any chances with.

Here's a few good sites to go visit and learn more...

Best Wishes for you and your Baby,
cryllie

First off, so see ur doctor about ur cramping. It's probably just normal. When I was pregnant, I still had "menstrual cramps" during the times of my first months when I normally would have had them...with no period, of ccourse. But, see him just to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I hear that can be quite painful.
Try and enjoy your pregnancy, don't go overboard with junk food and weight gain, because it is so hard to get off...and the stretch marks are disgusting...i know all about them :) I ate healthy foods, but I ate a lot of junk...and gained way too much weight.
U usually start showing around 3-4 months along...I did even sooner, but it wasn't baby or uterus...it was fat :)
Good luck and best wishes with all of this.

Could be braxton-hicks contractions but is very early for those. With your first baby you will show about 5 months depending on your body type. Mood swings and other effects brought on by the new hormone level variations in your body. A good book is "what to expect when your expecting" I highly recommend it. It will give you much comfort in understanding your body and knowing what is normal and when to see a doctor.

I recommend enjoy it, it goes by fast,

Everyone one is different so what happened to me during my pregnancies might never happen to you. If the cramping gets worse call your DR or go to the ER (and mention it at your next appointment) Nothing much you can do now but take care of yourself
