Are they designer make up? expensive? Can you buy them at Target or do you have to get them from somewhere like Nordstroms? Is it in the same class as Dior or Revlon...or is it somewhere in between? Is it any good?

I used MAC eversince I learnt that Madonna used them and of course because I love their VIVA Glam lipsticks. MAC is higher end and will cost around the same price as Dior and higher than Revlon. They are made by professionals for professionals.
I swear by their Studio Fix two-way foundation because it stays on all day. They have a wide array of eyeshadows and they are famous for their bold takes on make-up. Some of their colours are really out of this world! And they are the first beauty house to use men to sell their products (i.e. RuPaul and Sir Elton John). Also, you must get their Lipglass (lip gloss) because they are really great!
If you are interested, I think you can make an appointment at any of their counters for a makeup demonstration. This is a useful way to know what you like and don't before buying.

Mac is a Canadian brand. Their eye shadows are mostly color ful. It's a fine line of make-up. You can only get them at Nordstroms, Macy. Target will not have this Mac makeup! Make is a little below Dior but high quality than Revlon.
I've been using Mac, foundation, powder and shadows for years. I love the color they carried. I don't recomend their cleanser. It's not so great. Every high ends make up haver their good and bad. If you are interest in Dior I recomend DIOR Show mascara. They also won an award at Sephora 2 yrs in arow for best mascara.

Mac cosmetics are a relatively high end line. You have to buy them at stores like Nordstrom's or I buy them online. Their lipsticks are around $14 and compacts from $20 to $30. MAC is professional brand, created for photoshoots. It is now owned by Estee Lauder. It is the best line of cosmetics that I have found. You can find it at your local mall cosmetic counters. I recommend that you go in and ask questions, get some samples, and a consultation with a MAC rep. I know a lot of women who would use nothing else.

MAC Make up Artistry Cosmetics is a Canadian company, but have now merged and are owned by Estee Lauder (they own everything) It is only sold in department stores, there used to be a few freestanding stores, but not anymore with the merge.

They are expensive. I have only found MAC in department stores like Macy's, Dillards, Nordstrom's, etc. I think the quality is worth the price.

high end product you can find their own little shop in malls or in nordstroms,bloomies and macy's about 12-60 dollars depending on what you buy. the pigmets are better and i would say alook aliek o the product is the new loreal product H.I.P which you can find in target and walmart.

mac is great. and found at highend department stores.
just stay away from the mascara and foundation.
for mascara i go for chanel. it is AMAZING.
foundation, bare minerals all the way!
