I'd rather see great actors that look like the average person in movies with great storylines. When so many people look so beautiful and polished it takes away from the realism effect in movies.

Cus they use actors that they know will fill the seat and make the money the companies fronted for the movie back. if they put real people in no one would see it cus there is no big name star in it. Unless you area fan for indy movies...But they put hot people in the movie cus they have sponership and product placements in movies .. and sexy people sell more products and but azzes in the seat. it's all about money !!!!!!!!

Agreed. But then don't you pay good money to watch a beautiful person in that role? or watch that tv program to get away from reality??

I hate to stereotype but it comes from the media. Just look at rap videos showing the typical 'male' figure. An overweight out of shape pimp with dozens of bikini clad model thin women with big fake breasts all bickering for him to have sex with them. Women on the other hand are supposed to be "look but don't touch", to look sexy but are unobtainable for sex.
(So, in other words, women are sex goddesses that look like them but aren't supposed to act like one. Men are sex gods but only act like one but don't look like one. Polar opposites. The average looking 'nice guy' trap then reveals it's head...)
Men have to play out the role of the player. So guess what happens when you get a lot of men desperate for sex that don't have it? They settle for less. They fall for the 'sex sells' trap because they really want sex (because the media brainwashed them). They think that somehow by buying the product they will get that hot woman when it's just a ego boost that doesn't solve the man's problems that prevent him from successful dating.

People go to movies mainly see what they do not pocess in the real life. Therefore the movie makers catch on this theory and employ supermodels as actors /actresses in their movies and make them perform all impossible tasks (heroics) to please us audience and make big profits.

I agree with you. It always makes me laugh when I see some of the new TV shows and EVERYBODY has high cheekbones and looks like a model. I don't watch these shows.

sex sells. its a well known fact. more people will go see a crap movie with a really hot main character then a pretty good movie with an average looking cast.
