To determine that, you'd have to define what you mean by "fair", otherwise, how can we know what is "unfair". It's interesting to me that all parents I know of, from the time their children first learn to talk, constantly tell the kids that life is "unfair". So I wonder, where do children ever get the idea that life is supposed to be "fair" in the first place?

Also, while I'm rambling here, are you absolutely certain we don't choose to live? Perhaps our "souls" or "spirits" do request their sojourns into corporeal life.

Well it depends how you look at it (glass half full or half empty...) When my mother tried playing the "I brought you into this world" card during an argument I pointed out that yes it was her fault, not my choice & I didn't ask to be here! Some days life feels like a burden but at its best it is a gift...so make the most of it! Think how unfair it would be not to exist! :)

Yes, but isn't having a life and not living one unfair to yourself?

Do you not choose to live, every single day?

Every action you do - even that of breathing - is a choice you make. (though, admittedly, some are made subsconsciously)

If you so chose, you could decide to not eat, and thereby make the conscious decision to no longer be. (and this is but one example)

Yet, you have not made that choice, and in doing so have chosen to live. I do not see how you making a choice of your own volition could by any stretch be considered unfair.

Unfair to whom...? It's said that there is so much trouble in life, we might be better off not to have been born at all; but how many people are THAT lucky?

So you dont choose to live? Why are you still here? I dont think choice is the appropriate context in which to look at existence.

Not at all ! Man, with his ability to choose the way of life he prefers, is free to do what he wishes (your freedom ends at the tip of your neighbor's nose). Hence if one chooses not to live, so be it! IT is his preference. We ought not be judgmental! IT IS THE FREEDOM TO BE !

Your are the product of your surrounding envirnoment. But it's up to you to get educated about your envirnoment, so you can make better choices for yourself.

So, what makes you think you didn't choose to be born?
