We should defenitly teach children to love animals, animals feel pain children often do not understand if they hurt something it feels pain, also it has been proven that children who abuse animals can grow up to be abusers of people or worse.

i agree. i can't beleive how cruel people can be to animals. it makes me sick to my stomach. not too long ago in sherman, tx, which is where i live, two boys in high school had this rotwiler puppy. one took pictured and the other stabbed it in its eyes and just stabbed it to death, it was sick. they took the pictures to school the next day to show off. that was how they were caught. it broke my heart when i found out. the kids claimed that the dog was diturbing the cattle and that they had done that in self defense. keep in mind this dog was no bigger than my bichon frise'.
on one hand, this made me hate those two boys. but clearly, there is something wrong with them in their heads to do something to hateful and evil. i think that they should teach it in schools around the world. because aparently, the parents are not doing their job. i do think, however, that biology classes may conflict with any of those teachings in school mainly because those animals and animal parts that students are disecting in mass quantities, are bred and killed just for the sake of snotty teenage kids to open up, pin to a board and prod at when they could just as easily learn from the diagrams in the books they already have. when i was in high school i couldnt do it and my teacher held a grudge with me because i said i wouldnt. it was barbaric and cruel and disrespectful.
i dont know how i was taught to be so "sensitive" as they call it, i think there is just something wrong with everybody who thinks its ok to hunt down and torture an animal for fun. i wish they could know what it feels like to be hunted. maybe they should talk to some of our troops in the war and ask them how they felt when they saw one of their men bruned alive and swinging from a rafter. its sick and i dont know why the world is like this and i dont understand why more people dont see something wrong with it, maybe its the idea that they god desensitized to it over the years, but its proving to be a real problem in today ssociety and i feel like any program which promotes the growing of a consience and empathy into a child would be change more than we know.

Is the soul of the plowboy worth as much as the soul of the altarboy?
Why should we treat animals any better than we treat the humans that grow our food? When the farmer who nurtures the land and grows food is paid and revered like the poet or preacher, then you will be respecting what God gave you. The false concern for a few dogs doesn't bury the guilt God knows for your trips to WalMart to buy Chinese products at "Always Low Prices".

god, whom i dont even believe in, put animals on this earth for us to use as food and supplies. for the ones we dont eat, they help the environment in ways...i dont think any teaching is necessary...u cant teach somebody to love...either they do or they don't.
