i always thought they were the most pointless toy ever, even though my grandmother thought they were the greatest and made sure every child had one...every year
ps-and i could never get mine to go more than 2 steps down the stairs, so i was perpetually angry for the lying commercial.

i never quite made a slinky go down the stairs properly. it always seemed to stop after the 2nd or 3rd step. plus i never liked the way they end up twisted out of shape. but i do love the sound it made when it was slinking. thanks for the memory.

I think they are fun, just don't get them tangled. And I am talking the old metal ones, not the chintzy plastic ones.

Their Grrrreat! Except for when you push em' down the stairs to see how far they go,And they stop at the last step... That's kinda disappointing...
