using black liner, pull down your bottom lash line and draw a dark (not thick) line on the shiny part. make it really dark but thin.

then using black pressed powder eyeshadow, take a brush and line the lower lash line. not too think, you'll just look tired. do the same to the top.

then squint for ten seconds

Your going to need at least two shades of eyeshadow... preferably three. Also, eyeliner and mascara.

The first will be the lightest (almost sheer) apply this all over the eyelid up to the browbone and a bit on the inner corner of the eyes. Then add the medium shade onto the whole lid blending up towards the lighter color. Next will be the eyeliner (which could be black or just the same as the darkest eyeshadow). Take the darkest shade and use to thicken the eyeliner line and blend. You can also lightly smudge this darkest shade near the bottom lashline to increas the smokey effect. Lastly you need mascara... and not your everyday one, but a dark one like BeneFit's BadGal.

Some colors I love to use for the smokey look: Mossy Greens, Plums, Bronze/Gold, and Grey/Black.

First you need three colors- a dark smokey black/blue/brown or red.

Thsi should be applied just above your lash line from the inside of your eye to the outer edge.
Now with a soft brush smudge this color slightly upward and at the outer edge drag the brush slighty past your eye and sweep upward.

Next apply your main lid color this should be a soft medium color chocolate browns, deep bronze, or a medium navy blue or forest green.
Apply with a brush or soft tip applicator from inner eye to just before the outer end of your eye. Take care not to get too close to the first color applied closest to your lash line. This color should cover your entire natural lid- with your eye closed this is the slope inward over your eyebrow before it begins to slope up to your brow.

Make sure the inner part and outer parts of this main color are slightly darker then the center prominant lid. You can lighten this section with a small clean brush to get the dark-light-dark effect for this portion of your eye color.

Last is a highlight color typically a pearl, soft silver, coppery for brown or green shades. You may even find a light pearlesent color that matchs your main lid color. With a loose brush sweep it across your lid just under the browline. It should start 1/4 inche from where your brow starts to 1/2 inch past the brow ends but in a downward sweep toward your outer eye lashes.

Now go back to your first color the dark smoky color and with a soft small brush apply under your lower lashes starting in the inner corner and to the end sweeping up ever so slightly to meet the pearly last color you applied.

If you apply too much below use a Qtip to reduce the volume and clean up the line so it is subtle.

The effect should be smokey but natural so it takes someone a minute or two to realize the makeup has made your eyes looks so amazing because all they notice at first is how beautiful your eyes are as they stare into them.

This is not a daytime work look but a muted version can work for the office and a switch from brown to black lashes, applying a quick sweep of the darker shades and hitting the pearl effect at the brow and in 5 minutes your ready for a night out!

to try this you will elect one shade of eyeshadow, yet in different colours. So permit's say you used brown. first you may take the medium shade and unfold it over the entire eyelid. 2d you may take a extra creamy shade and unfold it for the duration of your foreheadbone, the area in simple terms above the attention. ultimately, take the darkest shade, inclusive of a dismal brown and unfold around the completed crease of your eye, the little crack your eyelid folds into once you have your eyes open. you additionally can take that darker shade and hint alongside your decrease lash line particularly of using eyeliner. desire this became into effective! :)
