I haven't seen it in a long time. But I think he had a replicate of it made and he switched it before the auction. So the one they were bidding on the whole time was a fake.

From what I remember when he was doing all the research and cleaning to make sure it was in fact the red violin and not a copy...
That it when he switched it... I believe it was just before the auction

I have not seen that movie, but I have heard that it is good. So I am sorry that I can not answer your quest. But I just wanted to comment on it. Wasn't it a book?

great movie, but i havent seen it in a while....i honestly don't remember. all i remember was a mean dude that tried to smash it.....is this the right movie?
