I understand choice is a main facter but if sex ed at schools was better than it is today and teens were taught about it in detail instead of just giving them condoms and saying keep safe would it help!!

No, I don't think so in that sense. I think it is due to the breakdown in parental responsiblity, school responsibility, and societal responsibility. For 30 years now, we have had increase in single parent homes, thus kids with no supervision. School has come up with sex ed and now the kids don't even have to experiement; they are taught in school. Society has failed because it supports the likes of stupid movies and TV shows that flaunt and glorify sex.

Nope... due to human sinfulness.

Sex education does not keep people from having sex. Such education can influence kids to have sex sooner. Sometimes STDs are limited by the use of condoms, but not always.

If you want to stop teenage pregnancy, institute 100% chaperoning of kids and youth/ young adults until marriage. Do not permit unsupervised dates or hanging-out before marriage.

And do not permit co-ed junior-high, or high schools or colleges. Have separate colleges for men and women.

Many other countries have done the two items listed above and have succeeded in eliminating or minimizing teen pregnancy.

Cordially,
John

I don't think that the amount of sex education has anything to do with the amount of teen pregnancy. I believe this because of a classmate who got pregnant in high school. Her and I received the same amount of sex ed in school but she got pregnant and I didn't. I think that it has to do with choice. I did not get pregnant when I was in high school because I decided to stay abstinant. She decided to sleep with a lot of boys. It is about choice. It doesn't matter how many times you tell a person about sex, it is what the person chooses to do in the end.

The problem is not the lack of sex education, the problem is the way they're doing it. They are giving the kids condoms trying to promote safe sex, when what they should be promoting is that sex brings to many things together, and you shouldn't have sex if you are not ready, by this I mean being mature enough, having a steady partner.

It turns out that teenage preganancies are in in a long term decline. Sex ed has increaed in that same period.
Causal relationship? Don't know, as many other things have changed too, but it is interesting.

Somethig to look into: Home schoolers vs public vs private schools - teenage pregnancy rates.

it's a lack of morality which is greatly fueled by the media, TV, and music. [gonna have u naked by the end of this song] 2 generations ago it was considered so sinful to have sex before marriage, and divorce was an embarassment to the family. The devil has gradually stepped up the sexual temptations so now people think that sin is normal today.

No, I don't think that has anything to do with it. I'm 19 and I have a one year old daughter. It normally happens to teen because they arn't always able to get a condom... or they don't have one with them... and just don't care... most people I know use the "pull and pray" method. I learned my lesson the hard way...

Sometimes yes. But most teens are of the attitude that "It won't happen to them." They need sex ed so they know everything and then it's up to them to use the info.
