Monkeys are better pets in the movies than they are real life.

If you get a young one, you have to care for it if it were your own child. You have to feed and change its diper, and so on.

Once the monkey is older, it will be like having a young child.

Monkeys are illegal in some states.

Usualy, pet monkeys are trapped from thier natural habitat and shipped to the USA. A portion of the animals die because of the stress. Another portion die because of lack of nutrition and water. That is even before they get to the States. You really don't want to promote this type of abuse, don't buy a monkey.

Some monkies are born in captivity, if you must have one, get it from a breeder.

Try getting a dog, you can train it do lots of things. If you get monkey fever, go to the zoo.

Well...I would say yes to this question, but I know better. Monkeys can carry many diseases -- diseases that are expensive to test for and are extremely easy for humans to contract. Oh yeah...good luck finding a veterinarian that will treat a monkey, healthy or sick/injured.
Don't you have a younger sibling for enslavement instead of an intelligent animal?

NO WAY! They are super cute, but they are so mean and aggressive. I watched a show on mankeys on Discovery Channel. They are very strong. if they want to get outside, they will tear anything up to get outside. if they want to take the ceiling fan off, they will. They are not meant for a house pet

Its is better to get a maid. You can communicate with a maid better. You don't look like an animal trainer to me. And don't F the monkey, thats' how AIDS started!

some counties, cities and states would like to see a liscense for any animals other than cats or dogs. Some cities require you to register with the city of your cats and dogs.
Sure you could teach it to do house work to an extent.

I've said for years that domesticated monkies will be available at petstores in my lifetime. I'm waiting for breeders to get all the terrible traits out of them. I expect to have one when my kids grow up and leave home in about 30 years or so...

I'd wait if I were you.

though every boy has wanted a monkey some time in his life, they are incredibly reckless and terrible as pets.

You will have to do more work, just to have the monkey do work...not worth all the trouble and expense.
