Swimming makes you hungrier. It's a great excercise, but it increases appetite. You must ignore those feelings after swimming or you will gain weight. If you ignore those feelings, you will lose weight.

A good trick is to have a bowl of cereal with skim milk after swimming.

Like they said, it might be muscles.

However if you're feeling hungry after swimming and tend to eat a lot to replenish after a swim, try to take 5-6 SMALL meals throughout the day. I keep a bag of cereal and some granola bars in my bag all day and I eat some every 2-3 hrs. It stops me from being hungry during and after swimming.

If you are talking pounds wise, girls body weight naturally fluctuates with our hormones. Taking swimming lessons, doesn't automatically mean that you are going to lose weight. Plus always remember that muscle weights more than fat.

Were your eating habits affected during that time period? For some people, exercising causes them to ravenous and so they tend to eat more afterward.

Or it could just be something happening in your body that looks as if you're gaining some weight.

i don't think it's making you fat. it might the muscle mass building up. swimmers tend to look a bit puffy in places that other athletes look muscular in because when you're in cold water for a long period of time, you body develops a thin layer of fat where the muscle should be. hope this helps!
