Sometimes when my friend tries to download songs from limewire (popular ones like JT or Sean Paul) they end up being 25 minutes long or something and the whole thing is silent!

That's a pretty common thing that can happen on Limewire. The reason is, because Limewire is a file sharing community, all the songs on there are from other people that have uploaded them on to Limewire. So when your friend uploads a song that is much longer than it is supposed to be, and is completely silent, etc., it just means that the source (person) that you downloaded it from, put on that faulty song.

i use lime wire to but i never had that happen maybe that other person is right, it could be a bad copy. i noticed that sometimes you will get ones that are garbled or 12 to 15 seconds long. it is peer to peer so it just depends on what condition the cd was in when that person ripped it to there hard drive for sharing.

Always look at the file size & bitrate if it's more then 8 or 9 MBS it probably not the song.

Your friend is dumb and keeps downloading crap without seeing other people's comments. Also, you're using limewire, which is dumb.

Then you both have crappy music...

I've noticed this problem too. Use ITunes. Its 99 cents per song but at least you get music..
