Researchers from many disciplines, chemists, physiologists, biologists, physicians, biomedical engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, computer engineers, physics engineers and many others. I am going into that. There are many ways of doing that. Considering that is all I want to do, I decided to go into Pharmacology. I have to get a PhD.
You could also become a doctor or medical scientist.
For me, pharmacology was the best option. If I decided I didn't want to do it anymore I could just work in a pharmacy or open my own.
