My philosophy on tattoos is get them where they can be covered up easily to appease the anal retentives in certain work and public places but can be shown easily without stripping down. A small one like that would be nice on your ankle, shoulder, or even on the back of your neck. I have a moon tattooed in my ear - get a lot of compliments on it even from non-tattoo people- a treble clef would be cute there. (and I barely felt it being done -less than any of my other tattoos)

If you are not sure where to get this tattoo... then maybe you are not ready to take the plunge and get a "permanent" mark on your body yet.
What I would suggest is get some of those tattoo pens they make for kids and "experiment" with your idea in different places. See how it looks with your lifestyle, clothes, and looks. Then decide if this is what you really want to do.

Dont u just hate smart asses on here, lol! I think a tatt like u want is cute. I would go with the inside of the wrist or I really like ones on the back right off the shoulder.

I have several friends with inconspicuous small tattoos such as this one just below their hairline on the back of their neck- usually not visible unless their hair is pulled on top of their head and only 'peek-a-boo' with a ponytail. Also, perhaps the wrist, since most instruments require manual dexterity.

Give it a second thought. when I was 18, I wanted ( really badly) to get both a piercing and a tattoo, but I never plucked up the courage to do it, now I´m happy I didn´t.

Wherever you think is best. Sometimes if you put it in the wrong place it'll look skanky, if you put it somewhere wrong, it'll be hidden most of the time. You should put it somewhere where its not too showy not to hidden.
Ehehe this is messed up on whichever hand you play you instrument on, do the small note or thingy on your hand or wrist.

I really like the way tattoos on the back of your neck look. Like, right on that bone kinda on your back almost. It's easy to conceal with your hair, and also easy to show off.

Maybe inside of your wrist being that it is small, I would check with your tattooist first because of curves or muscles it might not look good but for a small one the wrist is a winner plus they look good

I think on the inside of one of your feet. Along the inner arch. It looks elegant there. My friend had "Love" in cursive, tattooed in that area.
